- How do I measure my calf?
Measuring your calves carefully and accurately helps us to get the right boots to you first time. Some tips:
- Measure the widest part of your calf, leaving no space between leg and tape measure, to the nearest centimetre.
- Use a fabric tape measure only.
- If you regularly wear tights or long socks with boots, wear them when you measure your calves.
- Our boots come with a subtle elastic section between calf and top of boot. It allows approximately 2cm of extra stretch.
- Our boots, like all leather products, will give slightly with time and wear.
- Whilst we cannot make your decision for you, we can certainly advise so of you are in any doubt as to your calf width, please email; sales@buckelsandbows.co.uk. We will call you back to advise.

- I am buying a Pair of shoes for the first time, is there anything I should bear in mind?
When buying a pair of boots or shoes with a narrow heel, the pressure exerted on the heel is significant and the heavier the wearer, the quicker the rubber heel tip' will wear out. If you plan to wear narrow heeled boots over extended periods of time, be aware that you will need to replace the heel tips regularly and before the tips wear completely. Pointed styles - these boots can wear more quickly at the toe-piece. The tips should be replaced when they begin to look worn. Ankles - expect your boots to wrinkle around the ankle over time. There needs to be space between your ankle and the boot to allow for freedom of movement. If they were made too tight in this area they would be unwearable.

- I have Wide/Narrow Feet will your boots fit me?
We manufacture our boots with a standard C fitting shoe in calf widths of 30-46cm. I would suggest going up a foot size if you have wider feet and if you have narrow feet then an insole should take up the extra room.
